Charity Bank named among Best for the World in global business honours (for third year in a row!)

We’re honoured to have been named among companies that are Best for the World for the third year in a row, selected from more than 2,500 Certified B Corporations.

B Corporations are companies that meet the highest standards of verified overall social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, and aspire to use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.

“These companies are living proof of the power of balancing purpose with profits.”

Charity Bank is recognised as being in the top 10 per cent for three categories: Best for the World: Customers for providing value; Best for the World: Governance for incorporating our mission into the DNA of our company structure, and Best for the World: Overall for scoring among the top 10% of all B Corps globally across all impact areas.

B Lab (the non-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement) describes Best for the World honourees as “living proof of the power of balancing purpose with profits.”

Charity Bank made the list thanks to our ethical practices, social sector ownership and social purpose. Charity Bank is owned by and run for social purpose organisations.

Ed Siegel, Chief Executive of Charity Bank, said: “At Charity Bank, we invest directly in charities and social enterprises that benefit people and communities across the UK and beyond. Being named as Best for the World is further acknowledgement of how we put our social purpose and customer interests at the heart of our decision-making. We stand with other organisations using business to create a better future for people and planet.”

Charity Bank became the first bank in Europe to become a Certified B Corporation in 2015. Today, there is a growing international community of certified B Corporations committed to redefining success in business.
