It is with great sadness that we inform you about the sudden and unexpected death of our colleague David Tinker.
David joined Charity Bank in July 2013 as Finance Director. Notable for his wit and sense of humour, he was a kind, gentle and caring person with great inner strength of character and strong values, and liked by everyone he met in his working life. He was held in the highest regard by his colleagues at Charity Bank.
David made a big contribution to the work and life of Charity Bank.
During his time with us David transformed the finance function. His leadership, his strong professional standards and his attention to detail strengthened the quality of our financial management; and his powers of analysis, insight and challenge helped to shape and improve our business strategy and direction.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant and working in management roles at such organisations as Direct Line Life Insurance, HSBC, Lloyds Bank and Marks & Spencer, he joined the ethical banking sector. Heading up the finance team at Charity Bank, David used his experience and skills unstintingly to support our work to help charities and social enterprises across the UK.
David will be sorely missed as a colleague and as a friend to us all at Charity Bank.
Our deepest condolences go to his wife, children and grandchildren and to his wider family.
