Georgina’s role as a Compliance Officer is to help ensure that the Bank adheres to all applicable laws and regulations. Georgina joined in May 2024 from the Financial Ombudsman Service, where she worked as a senior adviser handling service complaints and driving service improvements. Prior to that, Georgina spent four years at Santander, gaining valuable experience in the financial sector.
Georgina enjoys how Charity Bank’s four-day week allows her to study forensic psychology in her spare time.

Mark is one of the Lending Managers at Charity Bank, mainly working with organisations that are looking to borrow up to £500,000. He supports organisations through the initial credit process and continues to work with them through legal documentation and completion.
He has over 35 years experience within the banking sector, the past 20 years of which have been specialising in the charity sector.

Charles has had a long career spent mostly in the financial and consultancy sectors in investment banking, payments, cards and asset management roles in the UK and overseas, mostly in Japan. He has covered IT, real-estate, sourcing, resilience and security roles usually working alongside other operational and risk management teams.

Debbie joined Charity Bank in 2005 after 23 years with a high street bank. A relocation to Kent prompted her decision to look outside of mainstream banking for a new, exciting challenge.
Outside of work Debbie enjoys sailing on the south coast, as well as running, having completed the Brighton Marathon in 2019, raising over £2,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

David recently joined Charity Bank from Lloyds Bank where he had worked for over 35 years. He has extensive experience in relationship, product management and strategic planning. David is an award winning mentor to SMEs, social enterprises and charities and an active Trustee/Secretary for his local scout group in Buxted, East Sussex.

As a Content Executive at Charity Bank, Elise creates a variety of content to share our impact and communicate our mission. Her work ranges from crafting case studies and videos to designing graphics and reports.
Elise studied History of Art at the University of St Andrews and earned a Master’s in Illustration from Falmouth University, which complements her skills in Marketing Communications. Outside of work, Elise enjoys playing netball, swimming, and pursuing her passion for drawing.

Toby became a Non-Executive Director of Charity Bank in December 2016. Toby is currently Group Chief Technology and Transformation Officer for Lowell.
Prior to Lowell, he held several senior roles at HSBC, including Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy for Global Private Banking at HSBC and Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy for Europe. Before HSBC he was at Lloyds Banking Group (‘LBG’), where he was Home Insurance Director and led a transformation of the Home Insurance business across LBG’s multiple brands and distribution channels increasing market share and improving customer service.
Toby was Director of LBG’s Group Chief Executive Office where he provided support and counsel to the Group CEO, Exec and Board during a period of significant restructuring and turnaround of the bank to profitability, dividends and selling government owned shares. Toby is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive financial services experience, having held leadership positions across insurance, private equity, leveraged finance, portfolio management, corporate banking, digital, treasury and trading.
He enjoys all sports and has coached youth and academy rugby for 16 years.

Neve’s role is to support all marketing activities and spread the message about the positive social impact of Charity Bank’s work. She is dedicated to amplifying the Bank’s mission, ensuring it reaches with a wide audience. Her career began in sports marketing, specialising in content creation & management for Premiership Rugby. Transitioning into banking allowed Neve to broaden her experience and learn a range of new marketing skills.

I also appreciate the flexibility of the work structure at Charity Bank, which allows me to try new hobbies and travel to new cities.

Sue has over 3o years experience in the banking industry building her varied career with NatWest before joining Charity Bank in 2017. Her expertise lies with lending and providing an excellent customer experience.

Victoria joined Charity Bank on a temporary contract in late 2018 and became a permanent member of staff in 2019. Prior to joining Charity Bank, she spent most of the previous 26 years working in the Lloyd’s insurance market. Victoria has enjoyed the switch to working in a bank with a high social impact.
“I find it inspiring to be part of a team that helps so many organisations to make a difference. As an animal lover, I particularly enjoyed visiting Strength and Learning Through Horses in North London (pictured) to see how equine assisted therapy is helping troubled young people.
I enjoy swimming, walking and cooking. I also write commercial women’s fiction set in Italy under the pen name Victoria Springfield.”

Kirsty joined Charity Bank in April 2013 after having a few different careers. She has gained well-rounded experience and deeper skills throughout her varied career. Through volunteering over the years, Kirsty has contributed to a larger social purpose and has made a valuable difference in the world we live.
Kirsty has travelled considerably and settled in Kent. She is an outdoorsy person and enjoys wildlife, trudging up craggy mountains and walking the coastal clifftops and beaches around the UK.

Philippa joined Charity Bank in 2005 and has worked in financial services since 1979 before moving to the charitable sector in 1992. Philippa believes that providing a personal touch makes a world of difference and this sets Charity Bank apart from the mainstream financial institutions.

Throughout her banking career, Carolyn has previously worked in the city and has been working for Charity Bank since 2005. She relishes her role as Director of Impact Lending and in her spare time, Carolyn is a trustee/director of five organisations, including two Almshouses. Additionally, she serves as Chair of the Postcode Lottery Innovation Trust.

Jeremy joined Charity Bank in 2011. His role is to work with clients, helping them to evaluate the risks associated with loan finance, providing guidance and support throughout the loan application process and on an ongoing basis thereafter.

Nora has been a member of Charity Bank since February 2008. Her extensive background spans both the social and financial sectors. She has served as a trustee for Migrateful, a charity that offers cookery classes taught by refugees and migrants on their journey to integration and volunteered with both Microfinance without Borders and Bankers without Borders.

I began my career in banking in 2015, starting as a cashier at Metro Bank before moving onto the Treasury Risk team, where I spent 7 years.
I joined Charity Bank as a Prudential Risk Manager in June 2024. My role is to oversee, monitor and challenge the financial and prudential risks at Charity Bank, so that the bank meets its regulatory and legal requirements.
I joined Charity Bank because the idea of “ethical banking” really spoke to me. It is a good feeling to know that the bank is supporting a lot of wonderful charities that might not have been able to get help from other lenders.

Rebecca is currently Head of Investment Management at Better Society Capital, a leading UK social impact investor focused on building an investment ecosystem that connects capital, expertise and ideas for better lives. Rebecca believes learning is essential to improve outcomes for people and the planet. She is the co-chair and an author of the CFA UK’s Certificate in Impact Investing which is the world’s first impact investment qualification.
Rebecca is also a member of Trust for London’s £360m Endowment Asset Allocation Committee and has previously been part of NatWest Social and Community Capital’s Credit Committee and a Trustee of UK Youth.
She has spent time at M&G on secondment helping to develop its impact investment strategy and the launch of a £5bn global sustainable and impact mandate. Prior to joining Better Society Capital, Rebecca worked in the social sector and in the UK Government including developing policies for green finance, low-income workers and community assets.

Ambreen was appointed as Non-Executive Director of Charity Bank in July 2021. She is the EDI champion on the Board and also sits on the Audit and Risk committee. With over 20 years experience in the not for profit sector, Ambreen brings knowledge of social policy and strategy development, communications, grant funding and social/evaluative research.
Ambreen currently works as a freelancer supporting a range of charities across the UK. She is passionate about social and racial justice and supporting lived experience expertise to be heard and valued. These themes run across her work as an Associate with Getting on Board (who support greater diversity of people in the charity governance space) and Institute for Voluntary Action Research; and in her non-executive role at Smallwood Trust, where she is championing a Board shadowing programme which aims to shift power to people with lived experience. Ambreen also is an advisory group member for Migration Exchange.
From 2018-2020 Ambreen worked at the Design Council as Director of Policy, Research and Communications. Prior to the Design Council she worked for 12 years at the Big Lottery Fund (now National Lottery Community Fund) in both their evaluation and policy functions, ending her time there as Deputy Director of England, responsible for the development of a range of multi-million-pound grant funding programmes to the voluntary and community sector.
